Hamas' intelligence superiority contributed to the success of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on October 7th (Al-Jazeera)

A member of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Gaza, Basem Naim, said that the Israeli occupation army neglected the resistance, failed to protect itself from its closest enemies, and was unable to reveal all the tools the resistance possesses.

Naim added - in exclusive statements to Al Jazeera Net - "This entity, which is being called upon to defend some parties in the region within the framework of re-engineering and normalizing the region for the benefit of the entity, is unable to defend itself."

Yesterday, Thursday, the newspaper "Israel Today" published a report in which it said that when the Israeli army forces carried out operations in the Gaza Strip, they discovered Hamas' capabilities in the field of intelligence, and that what was revealed left Israeli intelligence officials speechless.

The report added that after Israel entered Gaza and “seized Hamas’s servers in the tunnels, it became clear that this was just the tip of the iceberg, and that the Israeli army now realizes that there are Hamas attacks that have not been detected at the present time.”

Resistance tools

Commenting on this report, Bassem Naeem said that this news - if true and accurate - proves several things:

  • This enemy, which for many years was viewed as an invincible army, with a long hand that could strike everywhere, seemed unable to look between its feet and protect itself from its closest enemies.

  • This entity, which is called upon to defend some parties in the region within the framework of its re-engineering and normalization for the benefit of the entity, is unable to defend itself.

  • When the resistance had been talking for years about the liberation project and some people mocked it and saw that this was a kind of fantasy in light of the power equations on the ground between the entity as the strongest army in the region and one of the strongest armies in the world, and a besieged resistance that did not possess many resistance goods, it confirmed that it was based on A clear vision, specific goals, solid tools on the ground, and knowing exactly what you want and where you are going.

  • What the resistance hides is greater, and certainly not all the tools the resistance possesses were able to be revealed by the enemy, or the resistance used everything it had within the calculations of the current battle.

Naim concluded his statements by saying that all of this was revealed by the operation of last October 7, and “all of this expresses a profound failure of this reckless army, which has been intoxicated by force from seeing the danger and has greatly neglected the resistance.”

Intelligence errors

The Israeli newspaper’s report stated that “one example that illustrates the intelligence error clearly appears in the security cameras that were hacked by Hamas,” which was able to access dozens of cameras inside the settlements in the Gaza Strip, and “that the army admits that the problem of the cameras was not addressed with the necessary speed.” .

The newspaper reached the conclusion that this "was a very big mistake. Hamas had high-quality intelligence services, but the threat was not sufficiently absorbed into the Israeli security systems."

But the writer and political analyst Majid Ibrahim responded to this report and said that it is not possible to rely on the occupation’s narrative that it took control of this equipment, even if the conclusions about the development of Hamas’ technical capabilities are correct, and the widespread videos of how to raid military points, accurate information, and the effective use of marches to strike the occupation’s mechanisms and bases. Military.

Ibrahim added - in exclusive statements to Al Jazeera Net - that Hamas' success in its attack in Operation Al-Aqsa Flood is due to the following:

  • Advance preparation that took years.

  • Benefiting from and refining competencies, as demonstrated in the development of energy technology and marches at the hands of engineers Fadi Al-Batsh and Muhammad Al-Zawari.

  • Having the element of surprise with careful planning and camouflage.

  • The success of military intelligence established by Hamas in collecting accurate information about the enemy, such as hacking cameras and paralyzing them, in addition to human espionage capabilities.

  • Hamas mastered cyber warfare by penetrating the occupation soldiers’ mobile devices and obtaining sensitive information from them that helped it carry out the attack.

The writer and political analyst added, "The Israeli newspaper's report confirms the magnitude of the achievement achieved by the Al-Aqsa Flood attack, and the strategic losses it inflicted on the entity, as it undermined the myth of the invincible army and the theory of deterrence that is based on force majeure."

Ibrahim concluded his statements by saying that Israeli technological superiority is one of the most important pillars of the army’s strength and Israel’s ability to deter, and these are the superior capabilities that Israel relied on in its marketing of normalization with the Arab countries. However, the size of the achievement achieved by the Al-Aqsa flood attack confirms the size of the entity’s strategic losses, and that it struck The strength of the army and its ability to deter.
