Russia has requested a meeting of the UN Security Council today to investigate sabotage on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.

This was announced by the First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the organization, Dmitry Polyansky.

“On March 14, we will once again raise in the UN Security Council the issue of the need for an international investigation into the terrorist attacks on Nord Streams.”

After Denmark and Sweden stopped their national investigations, their futility and focus solely on gaining time and trying to get rid of the main and obvious suspect in this terrorist attack became even more clear.

Apparently they just couldn’t keep pushing the tires in Stockholm and Copenhagen.

In Berlin they are still pushing, but this does not change the picture,” Polyansky wrote on his Telegram page.

Earlier, a representative of the German Cabinet of Ministers, Christiane Hofmann, said that the German government allegedly “remains very interested” in ensuring that the sabotage on the Nord Stream is investigated and it becomes known “who is behind it.”

She recalled that the investigation in Germany is being carried out by the Prosecutor General's Office, which makes decisions on possible further steps.

Later, the department assured that “the investigation is ongoing.”

At the same time, Berlin does not respond to requests from the Russian side to investigate the emergency on the Nord Streams, said the Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergei Nechaev on March 6.

“Our repeated proposals to conduct a transparent international investigation are being ignored; there are no answers to numerous requests for information about the progress of the investigation,” Nechaev stated.

According to him, the situation surrounding the investigation into the Nord Stream terrorist attack resembles a farce, since for a year and a half “there are no clear results.”

Nechaev also believes that the decisions of Sweden and Denmark to stop the investigation are “very indicative” and indicate their reluctance “to have anything to do with the final verdict.”

As Florian Philippot, the leader of the French Patriots party, subsequently stated in an interview with RIA Novosti, the West is not conducting an investigation into the Nord Stream bombing, since the United States and other NATO countries are involved in this.

According to him, if in the West “a topic confuses, it does not exist.”

On the verge of absurdity

Let us remind you that on February 7, the Swedish prosecutor's office announced the termination of the investigation into sabotage at Nord Stream under the pretext that Swedish jurisdiction was allegedly inapplicable in this case.

As the department clarified, the main goal of the investigators was to establish whether Swedish citizens were involved in the incident and whether the territory of the kingdom was used to prepare the explosions, which could harm its interests or security.

This decision of the Swedish prosecutor's office in Moscow was called “remarkable.”

According to Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, a lot of data has been published about who may be behind this “serious sabotage” at Nord Stream.

As the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova pointed out, in turn, in Stockholm they were afraid to reveal the truth “about the perpetrators of this terrorist attack and about those who ordered it.”

Following Sweden, Denmark closed its investigation into sabotage on gas pipelines on February 26, allegedly due to lack of grounds for its continuation.

At the same time, the Danish authorities nevertheless came to the conclusion that deliberate sabotage took place in the Nord Stream emergency case.

The Kremlin called the decision of the Danish side close to absurd and emphasized that the situation causes “absolute amazement.”

"Doesn't stand up to criticism"

As Victoria Fedosova, deputy director of the Institute of Strategic Studies and Forecasts of RUDN University, recalled in a conversation with RT, initially, when Germany, Sweden and Denmark had just initiated investigations into the Nord Stream emergency, it was decided to conduct them separately in order to “mix up the tracks.”

“These countries deliberately did not join forces, and the coalition to investigate this incident fell apart.

Now Sweden and Denmark have decided to finally put the brakes on everything by stopping investigations at the national level.

In Moscow they absolutely noticed that this was aimed solely at hiding the customers.

As they say, during the investigation the main thing is not to expose yourself.

This is what they couldn’t allow,” Fedosova explained.

As for Russia’s initiative for an international investigation into the Nord Stream terrorist attacks, it is intended to show the whole world how the West is trying to hush up the results of the proceedings, the analyst believes.

“The UN Security Council meeting to investigate sabotage on Nord Stream should have a great diplomatic effect in discrediting the Western justice system.

This particular case, which Western countries tried so carefully not to advertise, will go beyond the information space of Europe.

The issue will be raised at the UN, and this diplomatic step of the Russian Federation will demonstrate how unfair the judicial system in the West is, how much European countries have lost their subjectivity, and are not allowed to create an international independent commission.

All proposals of this kind will be blocked, and the world will see that there is no transparency,” Fedosova is sure.

From her point of view, Germany is being hypocritical by declaring its interest in the Nord Stream investigation.

“Germany cannot admit that it is slowing down the investigation because of Washington’s role in the terrorist attack.

One of the most consistent versions was published by journalist Seymour Hersh.

At the same time, no one in the West even put forward counterarguments that would refute that it was the United States that organized the explosions with the support of its NATO partners.

At the same time, the Western media were actively promoting a story about some Ukrainian saboteurs, which absolutely does not stand up to any criticism.

These were simply attempts to mislead the undemanding European public, which for the most part can no longer think critically,” argues Fedosova.

For his part, the head of the Center for Global Studies and International Relations of the IAMP of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Vadim Kozyulin, believes that the sheer scale of the incident and its impact on the global economy and politics require that the truth be revealed.

“All the facts regarding the emergency, which the West is now trying so carefully to hide, will sooner or later become public.

There are probably many people in Western countries who have been investigating and now know a lot about the US role in the bombings, but for now they are silent because they are not allowed to tell the truth.

In addition, during the investigation in Germany, Sweden and Denmark, evidence was probably collected that could shed light on the details of what happened, but they are also classified due to political demands from Washington,” Kozyulin said in a commentary to RT.

He also added that Germany suffered the greatest damage due to explosions on Russian gas pipelines.

“Germany suffered more than others.

Its authorities sacrificed the interests of their own citizens for the sake of the consolidated position of the West,” Kozyulin said.

However, the specialist is confident that the West will ultimately not be able to hush up the matter of blowing up the Nord Streams.

“It is obvious that behind this terrorist attack are the political interests of the United States and its NATO allies, which, according to Washington, are higher than the interests of Germany, Denmark or Sweden.

These countries have to adhere to the line chosen by the White House and Brussels.

This also explains Russia’s exclusion from the investigation,” concluded Kozyulin.
