Every morning, Jean Zeid delivers the best in terms of innovation.

This Wednesday, he returns to the innovation of the Grenoble start-up SysAlp which wishes to install around twenty bulk vending machines by next June.

This Wednesday morning, we are talking about an innovation linked to bulk foods.

A bulk food vending machine.

Eighteen months after its launch, the Grenoble start-up SysAlp co-founded by Virgile Mulac hopes to manufacture and commission around twenty bulk vending machines by next June.

Why such an automatic machine for bulk?

The reason is simple, it is about making bulk purchasing more accessible to people who are not used to this type of distribution.

Today, there are between 20 to 25% of regular bulk buyers who shop in specialized organic stores.

At Sysalp, the holy grail would be to reach the 80% of customers who do not regularly buy in bulk in large and medium-sized stores.

Are there other obstacles to this bulk purchase?

Opinion studies are quite clear.

There is the hygiene and cleanliness of the aisle, the price of the brands offered, and the fact that it is only organic.

These are the main obstacles that Micael hopes to remove by instead offering premises with automatic distribution.

And to go even further by going directly to consumers to find out why they do not make the purchase, even having removed all the brakes.

How does this machine work?

She already has a little name: Micael.

In fact, it’s an acronym that means “consume better differently and locally”.

In the end, it's Micael.

Does this change the way you buy in bulk?

Yes.

No more lined up manual silos.

Automatic distribution allows you to request the desired food, choose the precise quantity and the best price.

And better yet, we know the price before confirming the order.

No bad surprises.

We are closer to its needs and this allows us to reduce waste, which is one of SysAlp's credos.

Is Micael already available on shelves?

For the moment, Sysalp is trying to develop its network in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Micael is already established in two large stores in Isère and Savoie.

Sysalp has just closed a crowdfunding campaign and the young company is preparing a fundraiser to evangelize its bulk machine.
