On March 12, a batch of Macao specialty foods successfully passed customs at the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, marking the first batch of Macao foods that implemented the "one code traceability" to officially enter the mainland.

At about 12 o'clock in the morning that day, a truck carrying 50 boxes of Macau butter cookies entered the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. What was different from the past was that the outer packaging of this batch of cookie products had a special two QR code "identity information".

On-site customs personnel can scan the QR code through the inspection equipment to enter the "One-Code Customs Clearance and Traceability Subsystem for Imported Food" and view the full traceability information of Macao-made food with one click, as well as the accompanying health certificate issued by the Macao Municipal Affairs Bureau, etc., and supervise operations Efficiency is greatly improved.

It is understood that the "Imported Food One Code Customs Clearance Traceability Subsystem" is an imported food traceability management information system jointly developed by Guangdong and Macao.

When products clear customs, the customs system can automatically write off the QR code on the product packaging. In addition, the customs can also implement convenient measures such as prioritizing inspections and reducing inspection time to achieve rapid release.

The Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is one of the main channels for Macao’s specialty food to be supplied to the mainland.

In recent years, an increasing number of Macao specialty products have been exported to the mainland via the Hong Kong Bridge Port.

The customs continues to improve port clearance efficiency to ensure efficient customs clearance of fresh and perishable agricultural and food products.

By developing and applying the “one-code customs clearance and traceability subsystem for imported food”, the efficiency of customs-related operations at the port is expected to increase by more than 30%.
