The Liberal Democratic Party proposed holding the party on the 15th after former Political Affairs Research Chairman Shimomura requested to attend the House of Representatives Political Ethics Review Committee regarding the issue of a party for political funds held by a faction of the Liberal Democratic Party, but the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan made no preparations. It was decided that the meeting would be held next week, and that discussions would continue.

Regarding this issue, Shimomura, the former chairman of the Political Affairs Research Council who served as the secretary-general of the Liberal Democratic Party's Abe faction, requested to attend the House of Representatives Political Ethics Review Committee on the 12th.

In response to this, Hideki Niwa of the Liberal Democratic Party, who is the lead secretary on the ruling party side of the committee, and Manabu Terada of the Constitutional Democratic Party, who is the lead secretary on the opposition side, met in the Diet.

In response, Mr. Niwa suggested that a review meeting should be held on the 15th, which should be open to the press on the 15th, saying that the offer should be acted upon promptly, but Mr. Terada said, ``The offer was made yesterday.'' "We just opened and need time to prepare," he said, asking for the opening next week.

For this reason, both parties have decided to continue discussions regarding the schedule of the examination committee.

Liberal Democratic Party Mr. Hideki Niwa

Niwa told reporters, ``Mr. Shimomura said that he wanted to explain the allegations as quickly and carefully as possible, so I proposed holding the meeting on the 15th.The opposition party had said, ``Do it quickly,'' but suddenly "I have no idea what they are thinking because they are unable to respond. It's very strange."

Ritmin Manabu Terada

Terada told reporters, ``The consensus of the opposition parties, including past precedents, has been conveying the schedule for the conference to be held around the 19th of next week, when the ruling and opposition parties can proceed with preparations, but they have not listened to it. It's unfortunate that there is no reason for it to be done and they just want to do it on the 15th in a hurry. It makes me wonder if they want to do it in time for the intensive deliberation of the House of Councilors' Budget Committee, or if they want to get it done before the Liberal Democratic Party convention.'' .

Meiji Restoration Secretary General Fujita

Fujita, secretary-general of the Nippon Ishin no Kai, said at a press conference, ``Normally it takes a certain amount of time from the request to the event, so I think the LDP has some kind of intention in trying to force the event to be held earlier. There are probably various intentions, such as wanting to do it before the Liberal Democratic Party convention, or wanting to hold it behind the scenes of the House of Councilors Budget Committee as inconspicuously as possible."

He added, ``Combining the testimonies of the four Abe faction leaders who attended the review committee, there is now circumstantial evidence that Seko, former House of Councilors secretary-general, and Shimomura, former chairman of the Policy Research Institute, were deeply involved in decision-making. "The most important thing is to reveal the truth about how illegal acts were carried out deliberately and systematically, and it is better for people to speak honestly."
