There was an explosion just before 8 a.m. local time on the morning of the 13th at a restaurant in a shopping district in Langfang, Hebei Province, adjacent to China's capital, Beijing.



According to China's state-run China Central Television, the explosion caused a four-story building housing a restaurant to collapse and a fire broke out.



According to the local government, two people have been killed and 26 injured so far.



In footage from the scene that appears to have taken place immediately after the explosion, reported by China Central Television, a large plume of smoke appears to be caused by the explosion, and flames are seen coming from nearby vehicles.



The roofs and walls of the buildings surrounding the building where the explosion occurred had collapsed, leaving the insides of the buildings exposed.



Three hours after the incident, smoke still remained around the scene, and firefighters were still working to extinguish the fire.



Additionally, an apartment building located about 100 meters away from the explosion site suffered damage, with windows broken and window frames coming off.



The cause of the explosion is believed to be a gas leak at the restaurant, and the fire department is currently investigating the situation.
