“US arms sales are turning Taiwan into a powder keg,” the diplomat said.
According to him, Washington's sale of arms to Taiwan is a serious violation of the “one China” principle and the three joint communiqués between China and the United States.
In addition, these US actions, as Liu Pengyu noted, send the “wrong signal” to the forces advocating “Taiwan independence.”
Previously, the Pentagon ordered four MQ-9B UAVs for Taiwan for $250 million.
