China News Service, United Nations, March 12 (Xinhua) China's deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, Dai Bing, spoke at the Group of Twenty (G20) work briefing held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on the 12th, calling on the G20 to strengthen unity and cooperation to promote world economic growth.

Dai Bing said that the current world economic recovery is sluggish and global challenges are emerging one after another.

China hopes that the G20 will revisit its original aspirations, carry forward the spirit of partnership, strengthen unity and cooperation, and promote strong, sustainable, inclusive and balanced growth of the world economy.

Dai Bing said that China has the following expectations for this year’s G20 cooperation: First, put development as a priority in cooperation.

China is willing to strengthen cooperation with all parties in poverty reduction, food security, elimination of inequality and other fields to inject impetus into accelerating the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

China proposes and actively implements the "Belt and Road" and global development initiatives, and welcomes G20 members to actively participate in initiative cooperation and jointly promote the global development agenda.

The second is to carry out macroeconomic policy cooperation.

G20 members should strengthen macroeconomic policy coordination, build a solid global financial safety net, and effectively prevent economic and financial risks.

We must strive to expand the global market, jointly maintain the stability and smoothness of industrial and supply chains, promote the construction of an open world economy, and create a favorable environment for world economic growth.

The third is to tap the potential of the digital economy.

G20 members should continue to promote high-quality digital connectivity, bridge the digital divide, and create an open, inclusive, and non-discriminatory digital economic environment.

Fourth, continue to promote the reform of global economic governance.

The governance of the Bretton Woods institutions should reflect changes in the world economic landscape and enhance the representation and voice of emerging markets and developing countries.

Dai Bing said that China congratulates Brazil on taking over the G20 rotating presidency.

China is willing to work with all parties to support Brazil in hosting a successful G20 summit and contribute to world economic recovery and global prosperity and development.
