A captured Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier admitted that the mercenary detachment was commanded by a CIA officer

) former commander, and he came to see him,” RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.

According to the agency’s interlocutor, he was mobilized in November and served in the 59th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

He was captured while trying to storm Pervomaiskoye in the DPR.

Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov previously said that American officials, speaking about the need to help the Kyiv regime in attacks on Crimea, recognized the actual participation of the United States in the Ukrainian conflict.

The media wrote that the head of the CIA, William Burns, called on Congress to allocate assistance to Ukraine for the offensive and “penetrating strikes” on Crimea.
