Three days after the shooting in the Blosne district of Rennes, the tension and fear are still palpable.

The gunfire, which continued for more than an hour between rival gangs, against a backdrop of drug trafficking, traumatized the residents.

Many of them are just waiting for one thing: to change their address.

Leaving the neighborhood, moving away from the violence and fear that grips them, is now the obsession of many residents of the Blosne district in Rennes.

On Saturday, for more than an hour, rival gangs clashed with automatic weapons, in the middle of the street, against a backdrop of drug trafficking.

A trauma for the local residents encountered by Europe 1.

“It looked like war”

“They were all hooded, they were shooting everywhere.”

Maria Elena still can't believe it.

From her window, she saw everything and above all heard everything.

Screams, gusts for more than an hour.

“I was very scared. It felt like war, it’s incredible,” she says.

For fear of reprisals, Maria Elena did not call the police.

In this neighborhood, plagued by drug trafficking, a milestone was reached with this ultra-violent shooting.

One shooting too many for these residents who are now looking to move.

"That's it, we made the request. It's a bit of a part of our life that's going to go away but we can't stay. Drug dealers invaded the apartment below us, we couldn't sleep more... They do their trafficking day and night, 7 days a week, it was hellish,” testifies this resident.

32 shell casings of different calibers found

Another local resident met by Europe 1 also wants to move as quickly as possible.

“I don’t want to stay here, what happened recently is scary,” she slips.

A shooting which left its mark: around twenty bullet holes were counted on the entrances to buildings, sometimes even in apartments.

Investigators also found 32 shell casings of different calibers, most of them weapons of war.
