Two Palestinian youths were martyred and others were injured in an assassination operation carried out by Israeli special units yesterday evening, Monday, in the town of Attil, north of Tulkarm in the West Bank, while confrontations broke out between Palestinian youths and the occupation forces in the Shuafat camp, north of Jerusalem.

Special units of the occupation forces infiltrated a commercial store in the town of Attil, and targeted a number of young men, claiming that they were planning to carry out an operation in Israel.

One of the young men was killed immediately, then another young man died as a result of being hit by occupation bullets, according to what was reported by Al Jazeera’s correspondent.

The occupation forces sent military reinforcements to the area, preventing medical teams from reaching the injured.

An angry popular march was launched in the town of Arraba, southwest of the city of Jenin in the West Bank, to denounce the assassination of the two young men in the town of Attil.

The demonstrators roamed the streets of Arraba and chanted slogans denouncing the occupation and its practices.

Incursions and arrests continue in West Bank cities and camps, as part of a broad Israeli escalation since the Palestinian resistance launched the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle on October 7th.

Last night, clashes broke out between Palestinian youth and the occupation forces in the Shuafat refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem.

The occupation forces fired heavy tear gas and sound bombs, while Palestinians set off firecrackers around the military checkpoint at the entrance to the camp, before the occupation forces closed the checkpoint to the movement of citizens.

On the other hand, the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem said that 35,000 worshipers performed the evening and Tarawih prayers in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque on the first day of Ramadan, despite the Israeli restrictions.

The majority of the worshipers were residents of East Jerusalem and the rest were Palestinians from 1948, as residents of the West Bank have not yet been allowed to cross the checkpoints and enter Jerusalem to perform the evening and Tarawih prayers.

The Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) said that the occupation forces severely beat a young man near Bab Al-Sahira, one of the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, before arresting him. They also arrested Al-Aqsa Mosque guard Khalil Al-Tarhouni from Old Jerusalem, and took him to an investigation center.

The occupation police declared a state of alert in the Old City of Jerusalem, including the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, coinciding with the beginning of the month of Ramadan.
