The Ansar Allah group (Houthis) announced at dawn on Tuesday that it had targeted an American ship in the Red Sea with a number of missiles, and vowed to escalate the attacks during the month of Ramadan in support of the Palestinian people.

The group's military spokesman, Yahya Saree, said, "Our missiles achieved an accurate hit on the American ship Pinocchio in the Red Sea."

Saree vowed to escalate "military operations during the month of Ramadan in support of the Palestinian people and our mujahideen brothers in Gaza."

He said, "We will continue to prevent Israeli navigation or ships heading to the ports of occupied Palestine until the aggression against Gaza stops."

The Houthis have been attacking Israeli ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden since last November, in solidarity with the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to Israeli aggression since last October 7.

After its sites were exposed to American and British raids, the Houthi group expanded the scope of its targets, and began targeting military and commercial ships owned by these two countries.

Last Saturday, the Houthi group announced the implementation of two military operations against an American ship and destroyers.
