Events Three members of a Spanish family die in a plane crash in the US
This Monday,
three members of a Galician family who were on board a private plane died in
Virginia (United States).
They were
Alfredo José Díez Seoane
, his wife, Kseniia Shanina, and his three-year-old son Nicolás.
According to La Voz de Galicia, this 39-year-old Galician from Betanzos lived in Miami, where he was in charge of the Atlantis Aviation
pilot school
, which has branches in several countries, after having trained as a pilot in A Coruña.
In another report from the aforementioned media, the pilot explained that he owed his profession to the fact that his father was an engineer and since he was little he had traveled a lot with his entire family due to his work.
After obtaining his pilot's title, he decided
to move to the United States
, where he validated his license and became an instructor to try to revolutionize the lives of pilots.
Thus, he designed a program to shorten the time they need to gain flight experience and founded his own company, which already had several airplanes.
His wife, also deceased, was of Russian origin and he met her precisely when she was one of his students.
The event has left
the population where he was born completely saddened.
The mayor, María Barral, claimed to be "dismayed" by the news and expressed her condolences to her family and friends on X (formerly Twitter).
Seoane
was traveling in this private plane with his wife, his son and two other crew members when the accident occurred that ended his life.
