The Civil Defense in eastern Lebanon said that one person was killed and 8 wounded in a preliminary toll of two Israeli raids on the Bekaa region. While Hezbollah fired dozens of missiles at several occupation targets, Israeli Minister of Internal Security Itamar Ben Gvir called for the attack on Lebanon and the war to begin “now.” .

Al Jazeera's correspondent indicated that the Israeli occupation aircraft fired two missiles at a building in the Al-Safari area, south of the city of Baalbek, which led to its complete destruction.

Firefighting teams worked to put out a fire that broke out in the targeted area, while civil defense teams worked to remove the rubble.

A second Israeli raid also targeted the vicinity of the town of Nabi Sheet in the Bekaa, eastern Lebanon.

Israeli warplanes launched raids on the towns of Khiam, Bint Jbeil, Hula, and Barghez in southern Lebanon.

For his part, the Israeli occupation army spokesman announced the launch of raids on two Hezbollah command headquarters in the Baalbek area, deep in Lebanon.

Today, Israeli warplanes launched raids on several sites and towns in southern Lebanon.

Al Jazeera's camera in the Upper Galilee recorded an air strike on the town of Khiam, south of Lebanon.

The Israeli army spokesman announced that raids were launched on 3 platforms from which rocket shells were fired at several locations in the occupied Syrian Golan.

Al Jazeera's correspondent confirmed that sirens sounded in several areas in the Upper Galilee and the Golan, and explosions were heard as a result of some missiles being intercepted and shrapnel falling in open areas.

Hezbollah attacks

Meanwhile, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that more than 100 missiles were launched from Lebanon and targeted the Golan Heights and the Hula Plain in the Upper Galilee.

On the other hand, Hezbollah announced that its fighters bombed the Israeli air and missile defense command headquarters in the Keila barracks, and the missile and artillery base in Yoav and its surroundings, with more than 100 Katyusha rockets.

Hezbollah said - in a statement - that the bombing came in response to the Israeli attacks on Lebanese villages and cities, the latest of which was in the vicinity of the city of Baalbek in the east of the country. Hezbollah also announced that it had targeted the Al-Raheb site with a Burkan missile, and bombed the spy devices in the Birkat Risha and Jal Al-Alam sites.

Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that a missile was fired from southern Lebanon towards the Israeli site of Jal al-Alam in the Western Galilee.

Hezbollah said, "We targeted the spy devices in the Jal al-Alam and Birkat Risha sites with appropriate weapons, and achieved a direct hit."

The Israeli newspaper Maariv quoted the head of the Regional Council in the Upper Galilee, Yora Saltz, as saying, “Israel has lost deterrence on its northern borders and is unable to restore it.”

Saltz added that the Israeli government must create a no-go zone for Hezbollah fighters north of the border.

In this context, Israeli Minister of Internal Security Itamar Ben Gvir addressed Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, saying: “The army is your responsibility and let us begin the response and attack on Lebanon and the war now.”

In the wake of a devastating Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, which led to Tel Aviv being brought before the International Court of Justice on charges of genocide, since October 8, 2023, the Israeli-Lebanese border has witnessed an exchange of fire between Hezbollah and Palestinian factions on the one hand, and the Israeli army on the other hand. It led to deaths and injuries on both sides of the border.
