Israeli occupation army radio reported that about 100 missiles were launched from Lebanon and targeted the occupied Syrian Golan Heights and the Hula Plain in the Upper Galilee.

Al Jazeera's correspondent said that sirens sounded in several settlements in the occupied Golan and towns in the Hula Plain in the Upper Galilee.

The reporter also said that Israeli interceptor missiles exploded in the airspace of the border villages in the eastern sector of southern Lebanon.

For its part, Israeli Army Radio reported that a number of missiles were intercepted and some of them landed in uninhabited areas, without recording any injuries or damage.

Earlier on Monday, Israeli fighters launched two raids on the vicinity of the city of Baalbek, eastern Lebanon.

Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that Israeli aircraft bombed with several missiles a building in the Ansar area, southeast of the city of Baalbek, and Israeli fighters also targeted a warehouse in the Taria area, west of Baalbek.

Baalbek Governor Bashir Khader said, “A person was martyred in the Israeli raid that targeted an olive oil factory.” Al Jazeera’s correspondent also quoted a medical source as saying that ambulance teams transported 6 wounded to area hospitals, according to a preliminary toll of the injured.

Israeli bombing

On the other hand, the Israeli army spokesman confirmed that warplanes bombed two Hezbollah sites in the Bekaa Valley region, deep in Lebanon.

The spokesman added, after announcing the implementation of 3 raids on the Bekaa region and the vicinity of the city of Baalbek, that the sites that were targeted belonged to the Hezbollah Air Force.

According to a statement by the Israeli military spokesman, the strikes came in response to the air attacks launched by Hezbollah towards the Golan Heights in recent days.

In the wake of a devastating Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, since October 8, 2023, the Israeli-Lebanese border has witnessed an exchange of fire between the Israeli army on the one hand, and Hezbollah and Palestinian factions on the other hand, which led to deaths and injuries on both sides of the border.

At least 316 people were killed, most of them Hezbollah fighters, in addition to 53 civilians in Lebanon, according to a tally prepared by Agence France-Presse based on party statements and official Lebanese sources.

Recently, threats have escalated from Israeli officials to expand attacks on Lebanese territory unless Hezbollah fighters withdraw away from the border with northern Israel.
