A shooting that occurred in the Blosne district of Rennes last weekend left two people injured, one seriously.

The gunshots, which continued for more than an hour, plunged the residents into fear.

Alice and Henri, a retired couple, narrowly escaped a tragic end.

It was a guerrilla scene that set this district of southern Rennes ablaze last weekend.

Heavy gunfire aimed at taking control of a drug resale point left two injured, one seriously.

A shooting with a long weapon, which occurred in the heart of the Blosne district, which lasted more than an hour and terrorized local residents. 

Like Alice, 73, and her husband, Henri, 81, at the entrance to the district police station.

Still in shock, they discovered their apartment in a pitiful state.

"I got up to go to breakfast, turned it on and saw the whole mess. My window seal was smashed, my microwave is smashed, I have two bullet holes on the dining room side and a clearance side", describes Henri. 

“We have never experienced this in Rennes” 

During the night, this shooting broke out at the foot of their building.

Henri knows it, the couple had a narrow escape.

“If I had gotten up when I heard the noise, I wouldn’t be here today,” he remarks.

Although no deaths have been reported, Henri and his wife have filed a complaint for attempted homicide, on the advice of Frédéric, the head of this police station.

"We are clearly starting with criminal activity. But we cannot be satisfied with damage. We have never experienced that in Rennes. There were certainly gunshots, but it was at a given moment and a very reduced,” he explains.

According to the Rennes Public Prosecutor's Office, the bursts of gunfire were heard between 1:56 a.m. and 3:03 a.m.
