  • 'Koldo Case' Rise and fall of the Ábalos clan: 54 million, four PSOE 'vips' and apartments in Benidorm

  • PSOE Ferraz defends himself against Page's criticism of the Amnesty Law by stating that he is in a "very absolute minority"

José Luis Ábalos returns to the

Congress of Deputies

this week .

He will do so, for the first time, as a deputy of the

Mixed Group

.

And they will do so to vote "yes" to the Amnesty Law, which is expected to be approved on Thursday with 178 votes in favor: 120 from PSOE, 27 from Sumar, seven from ERC, seven from Junts, six from Bildu , the five from the PNV, the four from Podemos, the one from the BNG and yours.

The former all-powerful Secretary of Organization of Ferraz will not differentiate himself from the party in which he has been a member for 43 years.

His last promise to his former colleagues was that he will always vote the same as the Government.

And he plans to comply to the letter, according to sources close to the former Minister of Transportation.

Two weeks after launching an attack on the leadership of his party and joining the Mixed Group to "defend his honorability", Ábalos will go to the Lower House to vote for nothing less than the most controversial norm of those approved by Pedro Sánchez's Executive in his almost six years of life.

Some in the PSOE had speculated about the hypothesis that Ábalos would take revenge on his former parliamentary group from his new seat in the Mixed Group, but his intention is, as this newspaper announced, to remain "loyal" to his ideas.

Furthermore, it must be remembered that Ábalos defended the suitability of the amnesty from the gatherings in which he collaborated before the

Koldo case

broke out , in which the alleged corruption of a plot led, among others, by Koldo García, one of his main advisors.

So there is no doubt: he will vote "yes."

Furthermore, his thesis that he is a socialist of pedigree who has been treated as a waste of temptation involves continuing to vote as just another socialist, precisely.

But not because of tactics, but because of conviction, they assure those around him.

Ábalos will sit in the seat until now occupied by

Néstor Rego

, of the BNG, who is now down two rows in the new distribution made by the Mixed Group and will be placed between ERC and Podemos.

In this way, the once all-powerful Minister of Transportation will go to the penultimate row, right next to the first left aisle of the Chamber.

sixth row

From the second to the sixth row of the bench.

From presenting the motion of censure that elevated Pedro Sánchez in 2018 to voting in the henhouse in 2024. From being the symbol of militancy to ostracism due to the outbreak of the

Koldo case

, in which he appears accused but is not investigated.

Forced by judicial and political circumstances, and in full precautionary suspension of his militancy as a socialist, Ábalos returns to the place where he began his national parliamentary journey, but now without any of his party colleagues by his side.

The image will be shocking, as it will explain at a glance two realities: the first, the total divorce of the PSOE with its former leader;

the second, the desire for Numantine resistance of the Valencian deputy, who wants to make the Mixed Group a "tribune" from which to defend his innocence.

«I have to defend myself at all levels.

I feel like I'm facing everything.

I come alone in my car, I don't have a secretary, I don't have anyone behind me or next to me.

"I face all the political power, from one side and the other, and I have to do it alone," she said two weeks ago, in her appearance without questions before the media, in the press room of the Lower House.

Why do you stay in the Mixed Group?

He explained it this way then: «If I resigned it would be understood that I assume some responsibility and I do not assume it.

I know what a political stinker is.

And with that the hunt against other people would not end.

It has not been possible to engage in reflection with my party.

So given the need to defend myself and restore my honor as a deputy and a person, that is why I have decided to move to the Mixed Group from where I will continue defending my ideas.

In any case, Thursday's votes will be a shock for Ferraz's former

number three

.

For the first time, he will see with all his symbolic burden what it means to be left outside the perimeter of the PSOE.

"I would never have imagined myself outside of these acronyms," he said when announcing his departure, but added: "I look forward to the end of this game seeing how many look at my face."
