China News Service, Astana, March 11th, Baku News: On the 11th local time, Kazakhstan President Tokayev visited Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, starting a two-day visit to Azerbaijan.

On the same day, Tokayev held talks with Azerbaijani President Aliyev and signed a series of agreements.

  According to the website of the Presidential Palace of Kazakhstan on the 11th, during the meeting, Tokayev congratulated Aliyev on his victory in the recent presidential election and congratulated the country on becoming the 29th Party of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The right to host the conference (COP29).

Tokayev said that the conference is crucial to solving climate problems and global cooperation.

  According to sources, during the talks, the two presidents also communicated on cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, transportation and logistics, energy and digitalization, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges.

  When talking about economic and trade development, Tokayev pointed out that since 2020, the trade volume between the two countries has increased fivefold, with bilateral trade volume exceeding US$500 million last year.

He said the two countries are committed to regional cooperation and strengthening relations with neighboring countries.

The operation of the inter-governmental Economic and Trade Cooperation Committee between the two countries has played a good role in promoting the development of bilateral economic relations.

In addition, the two countries have conducted close interactions within the United Nations and other international organizations.

The relevant agreements implemented by both sides in the cultural field will further promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

  Aliyev expressed appreciation for the achievements of the Kazakh people in socio-economic and innovative development.

He pointed out that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are exploring new areas of cooperation.

  At the first meeting of the Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan Supreme Interstate Council held on the same day, Aliyev pointed out that the meeting was of great significance and the outcome of the meeting would determine the future development of relations between the two countries to a large extent.
