The demonstrators gathered in one of the main streets of the capital (Al Jazeera)

The Islamic Group in Pakistan organized a massive demonstration in the capital, Islamabad, in solidarity with Gaza, in which thousands of Pakistanis participated.

The Emir of the Jamaat-e-Islami in Pakistan, Maulana Siraj-ul-Haq, the Senator in the Pakistani Senate for the Jamaat-e-Islami, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, and the head of the Jamaat-e-Islami’s Foreign Affairs Department, Asif Luqman Qazi, participated in the demonstration.

The demonstration was scheduled to go to the US Embassy in Pakistan, but it did not go there, as the demonstrators gathered in one of the main streets of the capital.

During the demonstration, the leaders of the Islamic Group spoke about the genocide to which the Palestinians are subjected in the Gaza Strip and the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces against the people of the Gaza Strip.

The group's leaders sent messages to the new Pakistani government led by Shehbaz Sharif about the need to take a stronger Pakistani position regarding what is happening in Gaza.

Senator Mushtaq Ahmed wondered why Islamic countries did not do what South Africa did in the International Court of Justice, and what other countries did in cutting their relations with Israel.

In his speech, Senator Mashaq Ahmed linked the Palestinian issue to the Kashmir issue, saying: “How can we demand our right to Kashmir when we are unable to support the people of Palestine?!”

The group's leaders also stressed their criticism of the Arab and Islamic silence and the weak and timid position of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation regarding what is happening in Gaza. They also criticized the silence of the international community and its failure to condemn the Israeli crimes in Gaza.

As for the group’s leader, Siraj al-Haq, he said in his speech during the demonstration that a million-man march will be organized on Ramadan 27 towards the American embassy to protest in front of it and show solidarity with the Palestinian people.

It is noteworthy that, according to the latest statistics from the health authorities in Gaza yesterday, Sunday, the total number of victims of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip since October 7 last year rose to 31,45 martyrs and 72,654 wounded, and the ministry said that 72% of the martyrs were children and women.
