China News Service, Beijing, March 11 (Reporter Xu Jing, Ma Shuaisha) Since the beginning of this year, news about the construction of "Rocket Street" in Beijing has attracted attention.

The Rocket Street project located in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone (referred to as "Yizhuang") in southern Beijing will start construction in April, adding a new touch to the ecology of Beijing's commercial aerospace industry.

The 2024 government work report proposes to vigorously promote the construction of a modern industrial system and accelerate the development of new productive forces; actively cultivate emerging industries and future industries; and actively create new growth engines such as biomanufacturing, commercial aerospace, and low-altitude economy.

China's commercial aerospace industry has developed for nearly 10 years.

Beijing is the birthplace of China's aerospace industry, and it is also the birthplace and main position of China's commercial aerospace industry. After several years of hard work, it has a relatively complete industrial ecology and development elements to a certain extent, forming a flourishing "South Arrow and North Star" layout , that is, Yizhuang and Daxing Districts gather commercial rocket R&D and manufacturing companies to form the "Southern Arrow" industrial cluster; Haidian District gathers many commercial satellite manufacturing, measurement, operation, control and operation companies to form the "Northern Star" industrial cluster.

Today, relying on a good innovation and entrepreneurship environment and industrial ecology, Beijing Yizhuang has gathered more than 50 aerospace companies, and the number of private rocket development companies in the country accounts for more than 75%, and has achieved many "firsts" in the commercial aerospace field. ".

Against this background, the Yizhuang New Town Space Street District and the Beijing Rocket Street Commercial Aerospace Research and Production Base came into being.

Yizhuang has released an urban plan for the Sky Street District with a planned area of 165 hectares. It is based on the integration of modern industry and city and complies with the development needs of the "aerospace +" industry to create an international commercial aerospace city; the Rocket Street project has a total construction scale of 150,000 square meters and is expected to open in 2025 It will be put into use at the end of the year, and four major functional areas including a common technology platform and a high-end manufacturing center will be set up to build the country's first commercial aerospace common scientific research and production base to provide strong support for the innovative development of commercial aerospace.

Blue Arrow Aerospace, located in Yizhuang, is a witness and participant in the preparation of the Beijing Rocket Street project, and will also be a beneficiary.

The relevant person in charge of Blue Arrow Aerospace said that with the implementation of the project, the company's own test and launch facilities are also planned to be included in the Rocket Street shared test platform. "We look forward to the completion of the project and rely on Rocket Street's complete scientific research, production and other infrastructure. It will accelerate our development process of reusable launch vehicles."

Blue Arrow Aerospace was established in 2015. After 9 years of development, it has the ability to build a complete domestic aerospace production chain.

On January 19, 2024, the reusable vertical takeoff and landing recovery verification rocket independently developed by Blue Arrow Aerospace was ignited and lifted off at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in China, verifying the one-stage vertical return of the Zhuque-3 large liquid oxygen methane reusable rocket. key technologies.

"This year's government work report mentioned commercial aerospace for the first time. It can be said that commercial aerospace itself is a new type of productivity." Zhang Changwu, founder of Blue Arrow Aerospace, said that the company will continue to increase investment in research and development to ensure that technology and products meet market demand and maintain Industry leadership.

At the same time, international cooperation should be strengthened to enhance the international influence of China's commercial aerospace industry.

The "Beijing Action Plan to Accelerate the Development of Commercial Aerospace Innovation (2024-2028)" (referred to as the "Plan") announced in January this year pointed out that Beijing will deepen the layout of industrial space, optimize and strengthen the "South Arrow and North Star", and build a "South Arrow and North Star". The development pattern of "Jianbeixing, two cores and multiple parks, and Tianjin-Hebei linkage" will create a 100-billion-level industry cluster for aerospace information and satellite and arrow terminals, and improve the resilience and safety level of the industrial chain and supply chain.

The Lingxi 03 satellite developed by Galaxy Aerospace located in the "Star Valley" north of Beijing was launched in July 2023. It is China's first satellite to use flexible solar wings.

"Commercial aerospace, as a representative of new productivity, can promote the construction of 'air, space and ground integration' network layout and open up a new development track." Galaxy Aerospace Chief Technology Officer Zhu Zhengxian said that the company will continue to reduce manufacturing costs and continue to promote commercial aerospace. Toward scale and industrialization.

In 2024, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology has made work arrangements for the commercial aerospace industry, including adhering to the spatial layout of "Southern Arrow and North Star" and strengthening "Southern Arrow" based on the advantages of the agglomeration of commercial rocket companies in Yizhuang and Daxing Districts; based on Haidian District The advantages of agglomeration of commercial satellite enterprises have strengthened "North Star" and radiated to other districts to form a city-wide industrial collaboration and complementarity pattern.

At the same time, it will link up with the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei to jointly build a Beijing-Xiong aerospace information industry corridor that runs through Haidian, Fengtai, Daxing, Yizhuang and Xiongan.

According to the plan, by 2028, Beijing’s commercial aerospace innovation capabilities will be significantly enhanced and the industrial energy level will be significantly improved.

The "Southern Arrow and North Star" industrial spatial pattern has been further deepened, with two characteristic industry clusters and several characteristic industrial parks built, and the commercial aerospace industry cluster worth 100 billion yuan strengthened.

After that, it will take another five years to form the normal launch capability of reusable rockets and build a commercial aerospace innovation and development highland with global influence.
