Six people who were participating in a trip for the elderly organized by Imserso in Mallorca have been seriously injured after the bus they were traveling in crashed this morning in the east of the Island.

One of the injured is in a very serious condition and there are also seven other minor injuries.

The critically injured person has been evacuated to the hospital in a medical helicopter from the scene of the accident.

The vehicle has lost control and has fallen down a two-meter slope, being overturned and with the windows completely broken by the impact.

The events, as reported by sources close to the incident, occurred at 10 a.m. this Monday, at kilometer 5 of the road that connects

Sant Llorenç and Son Servera.

There were around

50 people

traveling on the bus and 41 of them, including the driver, were unharmed after the accident.

The Mallorca Firefighters, members of the Manacor and Artà parks, as well as a sergeant and two technicians, have traveled to the site.

Also present at the scene are members of the Civil Guard, the Local Police of Son Servera and Sant Llorenç, as well as professionals from the Official College of Psychology of the Balearic Islands who are caring for the victims.

The president of the Balearic Government,

, has reported that the regional Executive is monitoring what happened and the state of health of the injured.

"Pending the accident that occurred this morning on the road from Sant Llorenç to Son Servera and the state of health of all the injured. All Emergency services and protocols have been deployed to care for the victims and families," said the Balearic president.
