This is stated in the report of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

It is noted that Russia for the first time dropped to third place among the largest arms exporters, losing second place to France (an increase of 47%).

At the same time, the first place is occupied by the United States, which, compared to the previous five-year period, increased sales by 17% (42% of the world market).

According to the institute's previous report on the state of the arms trade for 2018-2022, the United States and Russia led in export volume.

On February 23, Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly said that the country's authorities had introduced a ban on the export to Russia of goods that could be used for the production of weapons.
