“Armenia is not doing anything against any country, especially against Russia, because we are still considered an ally of Russia and a country located in the same economic zone,” TASS quotes him as saying. 

According to Hakobyan, the assessment that Yerevan’s steps are directed against Russia has nothing to do with reality.

“We do our best to have normal relations with all our partners and not work against anyone,” he said.

Earlier, British Deputy Defense Minister James Hippie said that the UK recognizes Armenia's decision to freeze membership in the CSTO and plans to provide support to Yerevan “in the face of threats of retaliatory measures emanating from Russia.”

He announced this in response to a written request from the British Parliament.
