“Russia almost certainly does not want a direct military conflict with US and NATO forces...” the document says.
It is noted that it will continue “asymmetric activity” below the level that is the “threshold of conflict” on a global scale.
However, US intelligence reportedly views Russia as a "resilient and capable adversary."
Earlier, US national intelligence officials said that Russia has been achieving success in Ukraine since the end of 2023.
Also, CIA Director William Burns noted that US assistance will help the Ukrainian Armed Forces launch an offensive at the end of 2024.
