He noted that the decision to refuse a meeting with the minister was a “reasonably justified decision” and taken in accordance with normal diplomatic practice, RTVI reports.

“We did not act on our own.

It was not our whim, not some willful decision.

It was an absolutely sound, reasonably informed decision,” Garalag added.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the EU ambassadors’ refusal to meet with Lavrov raises questions about their work in the country.
