Ukraine, a major issue in the majority's campaign for the European elections
The presidential majority organized a large meeting in Lille on Saturday and thus officially entered the battle for the European elections.
In front of around 2,000 supporters, the new head of the list, Valérie Hayer and the Prime Minister, Gabriel Attal, spoke to defend a vision of Europe opposed to that of the National Rally, particularly with regard to the war in Ukraine.

It was in a serious tone that
François Bayrou
paid tribute to
Emmanuel Macron
who affirmed that there were “
no limits
” in support for Ukraine.
The head of state was not in Lille for this large gathering of the majority but it was he who set the tone for a campaign where the war in Ukraine became a priority issue.
Edouard Philippe does not say anything else.

The President of the Republic is a thousand times right to support Ukraine
,” he proclaimed.

Deceptions
”
Unfailing support for Ukraine is also what the new head of the list, Valérie Hayer, is calling for.
She summoned history, in her speech, to warn against the National Rally.

Who could believe that our Europe would recover from letting Ukraine be destroyed on its doorstep?
Yesterday, Daladier and Chamberlain, today Le Pen and Orban
,” she said.
And when
Gabriel Attal
enters the arena and targets the RN, the priority adversary, he denounces the “
deceptions
” and the “
softened
” speech, particularly on Frexit.
The speeches change but the project remains.

But like the others, he also does not fail to take the example of the contradictions of the RN on Ukraine.

Treason, again, against our values by refusing support measures for Ukraine more than twenty times, as a great author whom we all love said: “don’t whistle at them, fight them at the ballot box”
.”
This great author to whom he refers is none other than Emmanuel Macron in 2017. The president, a decidedly very present absentee.
