The war on Gaza left tens of thousands of victims, most of them children and women (French)

Yesterday, Saturday, the International Union of Muslim Scholars called for alms in the month of Ramadan, to secure food and medicine for the children and women of the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a devastating Israeli war for months.

In the final statement of the Board of Trustees meeting - which was held in Istanbul last Friday - the Union appealed to Muslims to perform Qunoot on all the nights of Ramadan, praying to God to repel the aggression of the Israeli occupation and stabilize the resistance in the Gaza Strip.

In its statement, the Council affirmed the statements, fatwas, practical proposals and previous positions it had issued to support the vulnerable children, women and men in Gaza. It also condemned in the strongest terms what it described as “the crime of our time and the war of extermination” practiced by the occupation army against defenseless civilians.

The Council called on the Islamic nation’s peoples and rulers as they welcomed the month of Ramadan to “perform what God has imposed on them of supporting the oppressed and to gather efforts among countries, peoples and institutions to confront this brutal aggression and crime practiced by the occupation army and its allies in Gaza.”

The International Union of Muslim Scholars called on the Islamic nation and all free people of the world to make every material and moral effort to repel this aggression, and to open the crossings to provide food, drink and medicine to civilians in Gaza.

Since last October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, leaving tens of thousands of victims - most of them children and women - massive destruction of infrastructure and a humanitarian catastrophe, which led to Israel being brought before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing genocide.
