During the second session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the majority of CPPCC members and participating units took Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the guidance, fully implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Second Plenary Session of the 20th CPPCC Central Committee, and actively made suggestions through proposals, Celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Political Consultative Conference with practical actions to perform duties at a high level.

According to the "Regulations on the Proposal Work of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference" and the working rules for the review of proposals, after review, 5,006 cases were filed, 160 cases were consolidated, and 732 cases were turned into opinions and suggestions.
Among the proposed proposals, 4,534 were proposed by members, accounting for 90.6%; 472 were collectively proposed by democratic parties, people's organizations and sectors, committee members' groups, etc., accounting for 9.4%.
Among them, there were 1,985 proposals on economic construction, accounting for 39.7%; 465 proposals on political construction, accounting for 9.3%; 457 proposals on cultural construction, accounting for 9.1%; 1,436 proposals on social construction, accounting for 28.7%; and ecological civilization construction. There were 663 proposals, accounting for 13.2%.
The proposals for this meeting have the following characteristics: First, the proposers conscientiously implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thoughts on strengthening and improving the work of the People’s Political Consultative Conference, implement the major decisions and arrangements of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, adhere to the correct political direction, focus on promoting Chinese-style modernization, and closely implement the new Development concepts, building a new development pattern, promoting high-quality development and improving people's livelihood and well-being.
