In the appeal, the legislator noted that currently funds placed by foreign agents (with the exception of individuals, including individual entrepreneurs), information about which is contained in the register of foreign agents, are not subject to insurance.

This provision was introduced into legislation in December 2022.

Since then, the number of individuals recognized as foreign agents has more than doubled.

These individuals continue to receive funds from foreign sources to conduct public anti-Russian activities.

However, if an insured event occurs, the Russian state still undertakes to compensate these citizens with money, the parliamentarian noted.

“In this regard, I ask you to instruct you to consider the feasibility of amending federal legislation regarding the exclusion of funds of individuals recognized as foreign agents from the deposit insurance system,” the text of the appeal says.

Earlier it became known that the lower house of parliament would discuss a ban on paying copyright royalties to foreign agents.
