On the 156th day of the war on Gaza, Israel continued to target civilians in several places, resulting in more martyrs, while the resistance carried out new operations against the occupation forces, while the month of Ramadan descended on the besieged population amid horrific conditions.

The following are the most prominent events of today, Sunday, March 10, 2024, in Gaza at the field, political and humanitarian levels, in addition to developments on the Lebanese front.

Bombing and martyrs

The Israeli army carried out bombing on several areas in the Gaza Strip, wounding and killing dozens.

This comes after the occupation committed 8 massacres that resulted in the death of 85 Palestinians and the injury of 130 others within 24 hours, according to the toll.

Thus, the toll of the aggression that has been ongoing for more than 5 months has exceeded 31,000 martyrs and 72,000 wounded, most of whom are women and children.

Resistance operations

The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced that it blew up a house in an Israeli force in Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Yunis.

It also announced that it clashed with another force inside a tunnel in the same area and caused casualties among its members, while Al Jazeera obtained pictures of Al-Qassam members sniping an Israeli soldier south of the Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood in Gaza City, and other pictures of two missiles being dropped on an Israeli command headquarters east of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip.

For its part, the Israeli army announced the killing of a soldier in battles south of the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority said that the army had completed construction of the road that divides the Gaza Strip into two parts.

A nice word

Politically, the head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, held Israel responsible for not reaching an agreement so far.

Haniyeh said in a speech on the occasion of the month of Ramadan that Hamas is ready, if it receives a clear position to stop the aggression and the return of the displaced, to show flexibility regarding the issue of prisoners.

He added that the Hamas movement had set controls from the beginning of the negotiating process in order to reach an agreement, namely a ceasefire and blocking all suspicious plans targeting Gaza.

Prisoner exchange negotiations

In this context, two Egyptian security sources said that Egypt is in contact with Hamas, Israel and other mediators in an effort to resume negotiations on a truce in the Gaza Strip during the month of Ramadan.

The US President says he wants to reach a 6-week truce during which the Israelis detained in Gaza will be released.

Netanyahu's statements

For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that forces will enter Rafah, adding that Tel Aviv is about to end the last part of the war, and that the fighting will not take more than two months and perhaps 6 or 4 weeks.

Netanyahu also told the American newspaper Politico that he does not see any breakthrough in the negotiations, and that there will be no ceasefire without the release of the hostages.

On another topic, the Israeli Prime Minister said that US President Joe Biden is wrong if he thinks he is leading a policy against the majority of the Israeli public.

Humanitarian situation

The month of Ramadan comes to the Gaza Strip amid catastrophic humanitarian conditions, as hunger claims the lives of more besieged residents deprived of food and other necessities of life.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that hunger exists everywhere in Gaza, and that the situation in the north is tragic, as ground aid is prevented despite repeated appeals.

While Washington says it is preparing to build a naval pier in Gaza to receive aid, the US military announced that it has carried out new aid landing operations over Gaza.

Post-war phase

On the other hand, a security official in the Hamas movement said that the occupation’s attempt to create bodies to manage the Gaza Strip is a “failed conspiracy” and will not be achieved.

The Hamas security official warned that accepting communication with the occupation, whether mukhtars or clans, to work in the Gaza Strip is a national betrayal that the movement will not allow, stressing that Hamas will strike with an iron fist those who tamper with the internal front in the Gaza Strip, and will not allow the imposition of new rules.

Israel's admission of killing an elderly Palestinian

On another issue, the Israeli army admitted - according to Israeli media - the killing of the defenseless elderly man, of whom Al Jazeera published a video of his execution in a house west of Gaza, indicating that it was investigating the circumstances of his death.

The Hamas movement said that the Israeli occupation army’s admission of killing an elderly Palestinian in Gaza is an attempt to evade its systematic crimes against the Palestinians, calling on the international community to document the occupation’s crimes and hold it accountable.

Al-Aqsa and the West Bank

Tarawih prayer rituals were held in Al-Aqsa Mosque for the first night of the holy month of Ramadan, amid exceptional security measures imposed by the Israeli occupation police. These measures included restrictions on the entry of young men, which caused problems at a number of the gates of the Holy Mosque.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that thousands of police officers were deployed in Jerusalem, and 20 people were arrested.

In the West Bank, the Israeli army carried out new incursions, including several cities and towns in the West Bank, as part of a continuous escalation since the Palestinian resistance launched the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood on the seventh of last October.

Lebanese Front

Hezbollah announced that it had carried out 11 attacks against Israeli sites off the Lebanese border and in the Shebaa Farms and Golan regions, and confirmed that it had targeted the Meron Air Base.

For its part, the Israeli army announced that it was preparing for the possibility of a large-scale attack, including a ground operation in Lebanon.
