Haaretz said that 140 military transport planes have arrived in Israel since the beginning of the war on Gaza (Israeli press)

Today, Sunday, the Israeli newspaper "Haaretz" revealed what it described as an unprecedented air and sea bridge in Israel's history to supply it with American weapons, in support of its military operations in the Gaza Strip.

The newspaper said that this bridge included at least 100 flights launched from American bases around the world, and hundreds of flights operated by air and sea shipping companies, in an ongoing military supply operation five months after the start of the war.

Data from flight monitoring sites - on which the Israeli newspaper relied - showed that 140 military transport aircraft have arrived in Israel since the beginning of the war, including about 70 C-17 aircraft belonging to the US Air Force, most of which landed at the “Nevatim” base in the Negev Desert, not to mention Additional weapons and ammunition arrived on board 150 cargo ships.

Yesterday, American media reports revealed that Israel had been supplied with weapons and ammunition in 100 secret operations since the beginning of the war, including tens of tons of 155 mm shells, tens of thousands of guided bombs, Hellfire air-to-surface missiles, and drones.

The administration of US President Joe Biden chose not to inform Congress about it because the price of the pieces was relatively low, which exempted it from the procedure, according to what lawmakers said, but the secret deals are only a small part of the bridge leading towards Israel since the beginning of the war.

The frequency of US air cargo flights was very high in the first three months before declining in the last two months.

According to Haaretz, the matter was not limited to American aircraft, as significant activity was also recorded by Israeli Air Force transport aircraft to and from American bases in the United States and other countries.

In addition to 30 flights by an Israeli air cargo company that operated between the American Nevatim and Dover bases.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense said that it participated in transporting weapons and ammunition, and these trips, in return, did not slow down in the past two months.

Foreign companies

Also based on open source data, Haaretz newspaper also referred to 30 cargo flights operated by foreign companies chartered by the US Air Transport Corps and departing from the United States, Italy and Greece, but these flights stopped almost completely in the past two months.

Open sources also show 11 cargo planes belonging to national air transport companies and the Israeli “CAL” air cargo company that departed from 3 American bases on the island of Guam in the Pacific Ocean and South Korea, and 70 other flights belonging to national air transport companies and 20 to the Azerbaijani “Silkway” company, some of which were cargo planes that it rented. Apparently the entire Israeli Ministry of Defense, according to the same newspaper.

These planes transported heavy loads, especially from New York, Hong Kong, and Belgian Liege, where airport workers' unions said at the beginning of the war that American weapons were passing through the air port and asked not to participate in loading and unloading them.

The Israeli air transport company "CAL" also used its European fleet to operate hundreds of flights from Belgium and Hong Kong, but it is not known whether it was directly related to the war, or whether it was to compensate for the decrease in cargo loads on passenger planes after the significant decrease in commercial flights coming to Israel.
