Félix Bingui will now have to face justice.

This figure in Marseille drug trafficking, head of the Yoda clan, one of the two gangs sowing chaos in the Marseille city, was arrested on Friday in Casablanca in Morocco.

Now it's time for his extradition, but the procedure could take a few more weeks.

Félix Bingui was presented to a Moroccan judge on Saturday and then placed in detention.

A first step which allows French justice to officially request his extradition to France.

And once Morocco has given its agreement, the most delicate stage, namely its transfer, can then begin.

Repatriation under close surveillance.

Very likely placement in solitary confinement

"For the trip, there will be a Raid or BRI type team who will go and get him. Support intended to control possible rebellions and above all to ensure that depending on the means of transport that will be used - certainly not a theft regular - there is maximum discretion so that he can be presented to justice", explains Christian Prouteau, founder and former boss of GIGN.

Once in France, his journey promises to be more classic: placement in police custody, presentation before an investigating judge, who will most likely request his placement in pre-trial detention before his trial takes place.

A detention, too, under close surveillance.

“In view of his profile, in my opinion, he will be placed in solitary confinement for very long months, so that he cannot communicate with the outside world. He will be closely monitored, he will not be mixed with the other detainees. In pre-trial detention, that's for sure, but even when he is sentenced", assures Bruno Bartocetti, national secretary of the SGP-Police union.

Prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, drug trafficking and money laundering, Félix Bingui faces at least 30 years of criminal imprisonment.
