Monica J. Kerretts, a foreign expert on the United Nations Environment Program's Seventh Global Environment Outlook team, said in China News Service's "East-West Question·China-Foreign Dialogue" that China plays a leading role in addressing climate change. However, some foreign media have paid little attention to China's work in this regard.

Citing her observations of Shanghai and Beijing as examples, she pointed out that China is taking the environment as the core of development.
