The
founding assembly
of Sumar, which will be held on
March 23
, is gathering temperature now that the candidates for the new management bodies are known.
Yolanda Díaz appears to lead the match and does so with a predictable and consistent team in which the names of Ernest Urtasun, Íñigo Errejón,
Marta Lois
,
Josep Vendrell
and
María Eugenia Rodríguez Palop
stand out .
The second vice president of the Government will finally have a rival list with which to compete in the Sumar primaries, internal sources report, although it has not yet been made public who heads it or what her motivations are for planting an alternative.
In any case, Díaz faces this online vote between
March 13 and 20
with the conviction that she will place the vast majority of the
80 names
that she has presented as a team to take over the leadership of Sumar.
Specifically, the so-called
Coordination Group
, which will be the highest body between assemblies, and from whose members will then emerge the
Executive
that will direct the day-to-day running of the party.
The Coordination Group also has reserved
30% of seats
for Díaz's allied parties that actively participate in the construction of Sumar, such as
Izquierda Unida, Más Madrid, Catalunya en Comú or Verdes Equo, Contigo and the Andalusian People's Initiative
.
These parties will distribute those vacant seats and will personally designate the people who will participate in this Sumar body in the weeks following the assembly.
That does not mean that Díaz has incorporated figures in his candidacy who have cards from those parties.
This is the case of Urtasun and Vendrell (common), Errejón (Más Madrid) or
Pedro del Cura
(IU).
Double membership will be allowed for all and will count as a "Sumar quota."
The Minister of Culture emerges as number two on Díaz's list.
Urtasun has been Sumar's spokesperson since June and is a key player in the party's leading group.
In fourth place is Errejón, appointed a month ago as the new spokesperson in Congress.
The other two first positions are for women.
The economist
Paula Moreno
(three) and the representative for Cádiz
Esther Gil de Reboleño
(five).
From there, names hang in this order: Josep Vendrell,
Elizabeth Duval
,
Lander Martínez
, Marta Lois,
Joaquín Pérez-Rey
, María Eugenia Rodríguez Palop,
Carlos Corrochano
,
Rosa Martínez
and
Manuel Lago
.
Among the candidates are deputies such as
Txema Guijarro
,
Verónica M. Barbero
or
Rafa Cofiño
.
So is
Agustín Santos
, who although he was Díaz's number two on the Madrid list for 23-J, now appears in lower positions, which leaves his possible entry into the Executive or not uncertain.
JAVIER BARBANCHO
On the list there are other people with a media past on the left such as the former Madrid councilor
Guillermo Zapata
,
Jesús Santos
(former leader of Podemos in Madrid and deputy mayor of Alcorcón), the former Minister of Universities
Joan Subirats
or the philosopher
José Luis Villacañas
.
The census for voting in these primaries is around 70,000 people, according to Sumar sources, but it is still open to new registrants.
It will be up to you to choose both the new leadership of the party and the organizational, political and ethical documents that will articulate how Sumar is built.
The result of the primaries is proportional, that is, if, for example, Díaz's list wins 90% of the votes, it will win 90% of the seats.
The competition is between teams and not between individuals.
