Activists from the “We will live” collective, founded after October 7 to denounce sexual violence committed by Hamas, were exfiltrated on Friday from the Parisian procession for equality between men and women, after tensions with pro activists. -Palestinians.

Several thousand people, largely women, marched on Friday in Paris and in several cities in France on the occasion of March 8, festive demonstrations but punctuated in Paris by jostling between pro-Palestinians and pro-Israel activists.

Individuals presenting themselves as pro-Palestinians attacked demonstrators from the “We Will Live” movement present to defend the rights of Israeli women.

As soon as the procession left Place de la République at the start of the afternoon, the first insults against the “We will live” activists began to rain down.

“Zionists, fascists, you are the terrorists,” chanted dozens of young people with their faces exposed facing the procession.

“Because we are Jewish, we could not maintain our position in the demonstration”

The situation then worsened when demonstrators physically attacked the “We will live” activists.

The police then used tear gas and decided to exfiltrate the “We will live” demonstrators out of the procession, which had become too hostile.

A disappointment for Julie Arfi, co-founder of the “We will live” movement, who is not letting up.

“Today, in 2024, we are a group of French Jewish women and because we are Jewish, because we carry the voice of Israeli women victims, we were not able to maintain our position in the demonstration. Our activists were scared,” she laments.

An anger all the stronger since his collective had been authorized to demonstrate in the streets of Paris by the organizing committee.
