Wars in the Middle East and Ukraine - if Hungary's right-wing Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has his way, only one person can solve the conflicts: Donald Trump.

After a meeting with the former US President in Florida, Orbán spoke out in favor of his return to the White House.

»We need leaders in the world who are respected and can bring peace.

He's one of them!" Orbán wrote on Platform and secure borders to protect the sovereignty of every nation.

Orbán said only Trump's return to the White House could bring peace in Ukraine.

In a video on Facebook, he said there was peace in the Middle East and Ukraine under Trump's presidency from 2017 to 2021.

A statement from the Hungarian head of government published in German by Orbán's office said that Trump had earned respect in the world and thereby created the conditions for peace.

"Even today there would be no war if he were still President of the United States."

It is up to the Americans to make their own decision, "and it is up to us Hungarians to openly admit that it would be better for the world and also for Hungary if President Donald Trump returned."

With regard to the economy, Orbán said: "When the President returns, we will give new impetus to American-Hungarian trade relations."

And during Orbán's visit, Trump also didn't miss the opportunity to ensnare his Hungarian guest with flattering words: "There is no one who would be better, smarter or a better leader than Viktor Orbán," Trump announced in a video that Orbán was on X published.

"He's fantastic," said the former US president to loud applause from the audience.

Orbán is an undisputed figure because he would say how something should be done »and that would be the end of it.

He’s the boss.”

Orbán has long been at odds with most countries in the European Union.

Hungary does not supply weapons to Ukraine and maintains economic relations with Russia even after Russian troops invade Ukraine in 2022.

Orbán has also campaigned against immigration and placed greater government control over the judiciary, media and non-governmental organizations.

It is not the first time that Orbán and Trump have publicly promoted each other.

Hungary's prime minister and the former US president have supported each other several times in the past.

“I fully support his re-election as Hungarian Prime Minister,” Trump said, commenting on Orbán’s 2022 election campaign.

Trump had already described him as a “strong leader” back then.

Orbán retaliated with his tweet on X: “Keep fighting, Mr. President!

We stand behind you.” He also criticized a court ruling excluding Trump from the presidential primaries in the US state of Colorado.

"We have to be attentive because there is a large Western democracy in which, if I understand it correctly, they want to block a presidential candidate by putting legal obstacles in his way," Orbán said last December, referring to his ally .

Trump is aiming to prevail against current US President Joe Biden in the November election and move back into the White House.
