It is a tighter government with 34 ministers instead of 39 previously.

A team of loyal people like the Minister of the Interior, Mouhamadou Mokhtar Cissé, until now Macky Sall's chief of staff since October 2023 and whose mission will be to organize the election.

Or even Mame Mbaye Niang, appointed Minister of Sports, former chief of staff of the president.

Samba Sy, on the other hand, who had openly criticized the amnesty law proposed by the head of state, was replaced as Minister of Labor by a woman, Annette Seck.

For the rest, no change in the sovereign ministries.

A shortened campaign

This government will be responsible for managing current affairs until the election in a little over two weeks... And so let the campaign begin.

Friday March 8, the candidates were all in battle order to reorganize for this extremely short electoral campaign, 14 days instead of the 21 provided for by law and which, for the first time, will take place during Ramadan.
