“The Germans do not hide the fact that they are preparing for a war, ostensibly a defensive one, and must invest in everything from ammunition to everything else on a large scale,” the publication says. 

According to the author of the article, the German authorities intend to invest money, including in transport and military aircraft, air defense systems, command and control systems, as well as reconnaissance platforms, satellites and drones.

In addition, the material says, Berlin may escalate the Ukrainian conflict by supplying Kyiv with Taurus cruise missiles and a contingent to service them. 

Earlier, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said that Ukraine's defeat in the conflict threatens a military clash between Russia and NATO.

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov noted that such statements demonstrate the worldview of NATO, which considers Ukraine its territory.
