A joint demonstration of fishermen and Rural Coordination took place this Saturday afternoon near Boulogne-sur-Mer, in Pas-de-Calais.

A mobilization supposed to denounce what they call the “diktat of Brussels”, namely the numerous standards which weigh on their professions.

This Saturday afternoon, farmers from the Rural Coordination and fishermen marched side by side with the aim of denouncing the "diktat of Brussels", namely the standards - too many they say - which weigh on their professions.

In the procession, 120 tractors, 200 farmers and around thirty fishermen, all mobilized to express their fed up.

Jérémy Margollé, fisherman, denounces the floor prices.

"A kilo of whiting, we sell it for 1 euro or 1.20 euros. On the stall, you find it for 10 euros. We're walking on our heads! For us, it prevents us from living. When we see that we don't "It's not even the price of a liter of diesel, at some point it doesn't work," he complains.

“We have a president who turns a blind eye, who puts people to sleep” 

The fishing industry is even threatened with disappearance, adds Jérémy Margollé.

Too many administrative constraints, too many European standards and government announcements which are not enough, deplores Freddy Fourcroy, farmer.

"These are quarrels. What we want is something concrete. Today, everything is linked to Brussels, but things have to move. We have a president who closes his eyes, who puts people to sleep. people. It's the same thing as with the yellow vests. It's been going on for months and there's nothing."

“We will not give up,” concluded, at the end of the demonstration, a spokesperson for the Rural Coordination.

“Nothing will stop us until we have answers from Brussels,” they promise.

Nothing, neither the next European elections, nor the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
