Seventeen people have been injured,
one of them seriously
, in a traffic accident involving 18 vehicles that occurred this Saturday on the A-15 highway through Elduain (Gipuzkoa), the Basque Department of Safety reported.
According to this source, the accident, which has kept traffic cut off both in the direction of San Sebastián and towards Pamplona, occurred
around 4:05 p.m.
, apparently coinciding with a large hailstorm in the area.
The accident involved a total of eighteen vehicles traveling towards Donostia, which
collided due to rear-end collisions
, although traffic was also cut off towards Pamplona.
Several ambulances have gone to the scene and taken the injured to the
Asunción Clinic in Tolosa and the Donostia hospital.
Firefighters and Ertzaintza personnel have also been deployed, whose agents have diverted traffic towards
Berastegi and also around Andoain

Traffic in both directions was restored
at 7:30 p.m.
