Plumes of smoke rise from homes in southern Lebanon that were subjected to Israeli bombing yesterday, Saturday (French)

The Lebanese authorities reported that 5 civilians were killed - including an entire family - and more than 9 others were injured in an Israeli bombing that targeted a house on Saturday evening in the town of Khirbet Selm in southern Lebanon.

The official Lebanese Information Agency reported that an Israeli raid targeted a house in the Al-Ain neighborhood in the center of Khirbet Selm, killing a family of 5 people displaced from the town of Blida, and wounding more than 9 others.

The agency indicated that "Israeli fighters fired two missiles towards the house, which led to the martyrdom of the head of the family, his pregnant wife, their two children, and another person."

The Israeli bombing also injured 9 other residents of the homes surrounding the targeted house, all of whom were taken to Tibnin Governmental Hospital. The raid also caused heavy losses in dozens of surrounding homes, according to the agency.

Israeli bombing

Earlier on Saturday, Israeli fighters launched raids on the towns of Mays al-Jabal, Al-Dhahira, Aita al-Shaab, Kafra, and Majdal Zun in southern Lebanon. An Israeli drone targeted a house in the town of Blida with a missile, while the vicinity of the town of Wazzani was subjected to Israeli artillery shelling.

On the other hand, Lebanese Hezbollah announced in a statement that its fighters “targeted a Zionist military force in the vicinity of Mount Adir (northern Israel) with appropriate weapons, directly hitting it and leaving its members dead or wounded.”

The party confirmed the targeting of the sites of Zibdin and Ruwaisat al-Qarn in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms, a gathering of occupation soldiers in the vicinity of Hunin Castle, the bombing of the Israeli site al-Baghdadi with a Burkan missile, and its confrontation of “an Israeli march on the Palestinian border with appropriate weapons, forcing it to retreat.”

Incomplete official Lebanese statistics, which included all the villages on the border line, showed that about a thousand homes were completely destroyed in southern Lebanon, and about 10,000 other homes were partially damaged as a result of artillery shelling and Israeli raids since last October 8.
