A wheel fell off a passenger plane shortly after takeoff at an airport in San Francisco in the western United States, causing damage to cars and other vehicles parked at the airport.

The plane landed quickly at a Los Angeles airport, with no injuries to passengers or crew.

According to United Airlines in the United States and multiple media outlets, one of the wheels fell from the fuselage of United Airlines Flight 35 shortly after takeoff from San Francisco International Airport to Kansai Airport shortly after 11:30 a.m. local time on the 7th.

From the video captured of the airliner at the time of takeoff, you can see that the tire on the left side of the aircraft's flight direction falls about 5 seconds after takeoff.

As a result, multiple vehicles parked in the employee parking lot at the airport were damaged.

The plane also diverted to Los Angeles airport and made an emergency landing, but none of the 249 passengers and crew were injured.

Passengers will fly to Osaka on a replacement plane from the Los Angeles airport in the evening local time.

According to United Airlines, the aircraft is a Boeing 777 with six tires on each side of the center of the aircraft, designed to allow for a safe landing even when there are insufficient tires.

The US FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) says it will investigate this accident.
