The 168 Republican delegates appointed three people close to Donald Trump to head the party during a meeting of the authorities, in Houston, in the south of the United States, at the request of the former president.
The Republican National Committee is funding the expensive campaigns of party candidates.
Three close friends of Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican candidate for the American presidential election, including his daughter-in-law, were appointed Friday as party leaders during a meeting of his party's authorities in Houston (south).
“Ensuring that it is easy to vote and difficult to cheat”
The ex-president announced in February that he was proposing that the Republican National Committee be co-led by Michael Whatley, leader of the party in North Carolina (southeast) and Lara Trump, the wife of his son Eric, former producer of television.
He also wanted Chris LaCivita, a veteran of Republican campaigns, to become the National Committee's top executive, in charge of its "day-to-day operations."
The 168 party delegates gathered in Houston, Texas, unsurprisingly granted it in the absence of other candidates for these positions.
“We will work tirelessly in every state to ensure that it is easy to vote and difficult to cheat,” Michael Whatley said after his nomination.
Michael Whatley has publicly supported unfounded allegations of fraud made by Donald Trump during the 2020 presidential election, won by Democratic candidate Joe Biden, who is running for a second term.
Lara Trump, for her part, specified that the objective was a large victory on November 5, describing the issue of the vote as a fight between “good and evil”.

The primary mission of the Republican National Committee is to finance the costly campaigns of party candidates.
Michael Whatley succeeds Ronna McDaniel, herself already chosen in 2016 by Donald Trump, but with whom relations have become strained due to electoral defeats and disappointing fundraising.
The ex-president is now alone in the running for the Republican nomination after the abandonment on Wednesday of his only competitor, his ex-ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, the day after "Super Tuesday", a day which concentrates the primaries of 15 states, largely won by Donald Trump.
The party will officially nominate its candidate at its national convention in July in Milwaukee, in the north of the country.
