The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip claimed the lives of about 9,000 women, and that many of them are still under the rubble.

The agency confirmed that 63 women are killed every day in the Gaza Strip, including 37 mothers, while the United Nations Special Rapporteur on violence against women, Reem Salem, confirmed that women in Gaza live in inhumane conditions, especially with regard to their health conditions.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Reem described the situation there as tragic and falls under the category of crimes against humanity.

For its part, the government media office in the Gaza Strip mourned the 8,900 women who were killed in cold blood, while the remaining women live in conditions of “true humiliation” practiced by Israel.

The office said in a statement that the number of infections among women exceeded 23,000, in addition to more than 2,100 missing women whose fate is unknown, and more than half a million displaced women.

Humiliation of Palestinian women

He added, "This international day comes for Palestinian women - especially in the Gaza Strip - to be a true example of humiliating women, killing them, shooting them, torturing them, and forcing them to migrate, and not raising their status and honoring them."

He added that this global occasion “at a time when the Israeli occupation army is killing Palestinian women in cold blood in the genocidal war it is waging against civilians, the world stands by and watches this catastrophe and this dangerous violation against Palestinian women without doing anything.”

The Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, which, as of yesterday, Thursday, has left 30,800 martyrs and 72,298 injured, most of them children and women, according to the Palestinian authorities.
