The government is making arrangements to set up a new work team made up of related ministries and agencies as early as next week to examine the series of responses to the Noto Peninsula earthquake.

In addition to initial response, we would like to identify issues in evacuation center operations, transportation of supplies, etc., and make use of them in the future.

Regarding the Noto Peninsula earthquake, Prime Minister Kishida said at the Recovery and Reconstruction Support Headquarters held on the 1st of this month, two months after the earthquake, ``Given the geographical constraints of the peninsula, it is difficult compared to previous disaster responses.'' ``There was a serious situation,'' he said, and instructed the relevant ministers to examine the government's response.

In response to this, the government is making arrangements to set up a new work team as early as next week, centered on the Cabinet Secretariat and including personnel from related ministries and agencies.

The work team will listen to the opinions of local governments regarding initial response, support for disaster-stricken local governments, evacuation center operations, transportation of supplies, etc., while identifying issues and considering improvement measures.

In addition, the government plans to confirm the status of introduction of new technologies such as drones and the latest communication equipment in the disaster-stricken areas, and consider further utilization measures. We would like to utilize this knowledge for earthquake disaster response.
