Chen Min believes that China has the demand advantage of a very large market, the supply advantage of a complete industrial system, and the talent advantage of a large number of high-quality workers and entrepreneurs.

Australia has rich and high-quality mineral resources, world-leading specialized expertise, a highly developed service industry and a relatively complete legal security system.

There is broad space for China and Australia to deepen economic and trade cooperation. They can not only deepen existing cooperative partnerships in traditional fields such as energy, mining, agriculture, and manufacturing, but also explore mutually beneficial cooperation in emerging fields such as climate change, clean energy, and health care.

Chen Min said that on the basis of consolidating cooperation in traditional fields, the two sides should expand cooperation in emerging fields such as climate change and green economy, jointly safeguard the global and regional free trade system, work together to provide a good business environment for the investment and operation of enterprises in the two countries, and create a new and vast space for national economic and trade cooperation.

Chen Min said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Australia.

The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade’s Representative Office in Australia will continue to actively promote the institutionalization and long-term development of China-Australia industrial and commercial cooperation, and take the initiative to serve Chinese and Australian enterprises.

Chen Min said that in the context of the difficult recovery of the world economy and the impact on the global industrial and supply chains, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade has responded to the situation and actively explored the establishment of the China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo (hereinafter referred to as the "Chain Expo").

He said that the number of visitors to the first Chain Expo in 2023 will exceed 150,000, and relevant parties have signed more than 200 cooperation agreements and agreements of intent, involving more than 150 billion yuan.

The second Chain Expo is scheduled to be held in November 2024. It will set up six major chain and supply chain service exhibition areas: advanced manufacturing chain, clean energy chain, smart car chain, digital technology chain, healthy life chain, and green agricultural chain. These chain and supply chain service exhibition areas hold special forums and more supporting activities such as investment promotion, supply and demand docking, and new product release.

"We will fully promote the role of the Chain Expo as a platform in strengthening supply chain cooperation among various countries, and invite the Australian business community to actively participate in the second Chain Expo to help companies seize market opportunities, investment opportunities, and growth opportunities."
