German nutritionist Ina Dankwa recommended that diabetics control their blood sugar levels to avoid a severe drop or high blood sugar level.

Dankwa explained that not eating for a long period of time can lead to hypoglycemia, which also occurs when taking an overdose of medication.

Sweating and shivering

Symptoms of severe low blood sugar include lethargy, sweating, trembling, inner turmoil, mental confusion, and heart palpitations, and it can even lead to loss of consciousness.

When you notice these symptoms, you should drink a sugar solution.

In severe cases, an ambulance should be called.

Dehydration and extreme thirst

Dankwa added that high blood sugar levels occur due to eating a lot of food while not taking a dose of medication, explaining that the symptoms of high blood sugar levels are dehydration, extreme thirst, dizziness, nausea, and deteriorating vision.

Symptoms of high blood sugar also include an increased urge to urinate, fatigue, exhaustion, and a slightly “sweet” breath odor.

It may also lead to loss of consciousness.

High blood sugar levels can be dealt with by taking medication.

In severe cases, an ambulance should be called.
