An incident is causing severe delays on the Cercanías lines that pass through the Atocha tunnel and travelers are recommended to look for other forms of transport from early in the morning.

As announced by

Cercanías Madrid

on its X account (formerly Twitter), the "strong delays" have been caused by "an incident at the southern entrance to Atocha."

Therefore, they recommend travelers who were planning to use these Cercanías lines to directly look for alternative means of transportation.

This incident affects the Cercanías lines C3, C4a, C4b and C5 that connect towns in the south of the Community such as Parla, Getafe or Móstoles, with other points in the region, and also the train service between Méndez Álvaro and Atocha.

Adif technicians are already working to solve this incident but from the Cercanías account they have not reported how long it will take to achieve this or when the service is expected to resume normally.

There are many users who have shown their anger at what happened through Twitter, while many others directly ask the company when the train that they are already waiting on the platform will pass.

"Half an hour without giving a notice or anything, until they warn through a megaphone," criticizes one user, while another criticizes that "something happens every day."
