Adriana Lastra and Susana Díaz have joined the request that a group of PSOE feminists has conveyed to the party leadership to expel public officials who resort to prostitution.

To this end, it is urged that the internal Code of Ethics "incorporate the explicit rejection" of this "outrageous business" as an "inexcusable condition for compliance with the principle of exemplarity."

In their writing, the promoters argue that this modification is "coherent with the political position" of the historic formation.

Lastra was number two of the PSOE until the remodeling of the Federal Executive in 2021, while Díaz faced Pedro Sánchez in the primaries in which the current general secretary of the socialists prevailed against the candidate of the

against all odds .

Along with them, another hundred people have signed, including former leaders such as Rosa Aguilar.

Sources from the group promoting the initiative, including Amelia Valcárcel, Ángeles Álvarez and Altamira Gonzalo, tell this newspaper that the accession of PSOE historical figures "cannot be read in terms of organic movements."

In this sense, they point out that from the Equality Secretariat downwards "every militant" should "feel committed to this cause" and that any attempt to use this initiative "harms the feminist movement."
