Today, Friday, the Israeli occupation forces assassinated a resistance fighter after besieging him west of Jenin, and continued their raids throughout the West Bank. They also tightened their security deployment around Al-Aqsa Mosque days before the month of Ramadan.

Al Jazeera's correspondent reported the martyrdom of the persecuted young man, Muhammad Adel Shalabi (39 years old), in the town of Silat al-Harithiya, west of Jenin, after Israeli special units surrounded him this morning and arrested him after he was wounded.

The Prisoners' Affairs Authority confirmed that the Israeli soldiers "executed" Shalabi, while local sources said that the Israeli forces arrested him while he was injured, transported him in an ambulance and arrested his father before withdrawing from the town, in addition to arresting two other young men who were released at the entrance to Silat al-Harithiya.

The Jenin Brigade, affiliated with the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, mourned the martyr Muhammad Adel Shalabi, saying that he was the founder of the Al-Sila Al-Harithiya groups. The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) also mourned him and said that he was martyred in the context of the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle.

The Jenin Brigade said that its fighters engaged in armed clashes with the occupation forces in Silat al-Harithiya and detonated explosive devices there.

In the past few hours, the occupation forces stormed several towns in Tulkarm, Hebron, Nablus, Salfit, and Qalqilya, and launched raids and arrest campaigns there.

On the other hand, thousands of Palestinians performed the last Friday prayer of the month of Shaban in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Israeli occupation forces had strengthened their security and military presence in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City in occupied Jerusalem, and deployed many iron barriers at the entrances to the city and the gates of the Old City.

The occupation forces prevented many young men from reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque, forcing them to perform prayers in the streets surrounding it.

The occupation had tightened its measures in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque for the 22nd Friday in a row since the seventh of last October.

Recently, a number of ministers in Benjamin Netanyahu's government called for restrictions on the access of West Bank and Green Line Palestinians to Al-Aqsa Mosque.

On the other hand, Palestinian factions and Islamic leaders within the Green Line called for traveling to Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramadan.
